LISA MANN This vocalist, bassist and songwriter hails from the Portland, OR metropolitan area where she has made a name for herself with her inspiring original performances, as well as with her solid back-up role for some of Portland's finest artists. She has shared the stage with Sonny "Smokin'" Hess, Duffy Bishop, Margo Tufo, Ellen Whyte and the late great Paul Delay, among many others.
Lisa's original music runs the gamut, from R&B inflected blues to arena-style rock to sublime ballads. Her lyrics are inspired by hard living, good loving, and spiritual transformation of the Zen variety.
Lisa is a two-time winner of the Cascade Blues Association's Muddy Waters Award for Bass Player of the Year, as well as a nominee for Vocalist of the Year for 2008. In 2007, Lisa Mann and Her Really Good Band were flown to Austin, TX to perform at the Famecast competition finals, where she took second place in a national field of 162 bands.
Lisa has two CDs under her belt, the eclectic "Self Material" and the more blues-heavy "Chop Water," both available at CDBaby.com, and at Portland's own Music Millennium. Self Material (2006) features performances from Portland greats like Sonny Hess, Megan James and Paul DeLay alumni David Vest. 2008's "Chop Water" features her 'partner in crime' Jeff Knudsen in the engineering role as well as on guitar, and amazing performances from Blues Music Award winning Insomniacs members, drummer Dave Melyan and keyboardist Alex Shakeri.
