KATHY ZAVADA began her musical career at the age of four, auditioning for a private sing and dance nursery school in Baltimore, MD and becoming the lead singer for a show presented on television, at festivals and for dignitaries such as the Governor. Kathy went on to become the youngest piano student accepted at the University of Florida at 13 years old. She graduated with honors in Music and Psychology.

Kathy began her professional recording career in 1989 with her debut CD Heart Space. She has released 8 more CDs on her own independent label Precious Music. Ms. Zavada has just released a new CD entitled Return To Love, which features Billy Oskay on violin and legendary blues harpist Paul Delay on harmonica, Phil Baker on bass, and Martin Zar Zar, the drummer for Pink Martini. It also features Scott Law on guitars, and Jarrod Kaplin on percussion. The new CD displays Kathy's considerable talents as a singer/pianist/songwriter of inspirational music, as well as her considerable musical range with Celtic/Folk flavored tunes, rhythm and blues, and even a few chants in call and response style.

Kathy makes her home in Mt. Shasta, California, where she recently opened for Christopher Cross for a benefit for the Dream Foundation. Her music has been featured in concert on public television, as well as receiving airplay with featured interviews on numerous radio shows. She tours nationally, and aside from public concerts, also does festivals and concert programs for teens at therapeutic boarding schools. She is also invited regularly to sing for Her Holiness Mata Amritanandamayi, the hugging saint, and to share her music at programs for Gangaji, a distinguished and well-respected American spiritual teacher.
